Leslie Aefsky (she/her) is an intern offering therapy services to support individuals along their life journey.  She is currently pursuing her Master of Social Work degree at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and is also a 500-hour Yoga Alliance certified yoga instructor who has been teaching yoga since 2013.

Leslie is passionate about fostering an inclusive space creating a supportive environment for clients to feel seen and heard. Her approach to therapy is collaborative, holistic, integrative, non-judgemental, person-centered, and trauma-informed. She is honored to partner with clients to support individual growth and is committed to helping clients to gain deeper access to their inner wisdom.

She tailors her therapeutic approach to meet the unique needs of each client and draws from various evidence-based approaches, such as Cognitive Behavioral Theory (CBT), Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SBT), and Motivational Interviewing (MI), along with holistic and integrative approaches, such as mindfulness, breathwork, guided relaxation, and somatic awareness.

Leslie is committed to promoting diversity and belonging and her practice is informed by social-justice oriented lens. Some of her focus areas include working with adults navigating grief, trauma, anxiety, depression, ADHD, chronic illness, explorations of identity, communication issues, and issues related to transitions.
