Fani Mwasiti (fah-KnEE) is a Licensed  Clinical Social Work Associate who provides counseling services to adults, including EMDR therapyShe graduated from UNC Greensboro with a Bachelor of Human Development and Family Studies with a minor in American Sign Language. She holds a Master’s degree in Social Work from UNC-Chapel Hill. Fani has experience providing therapy services to adults and families in different settings including hospitals and nonprofit communities. She believes in a holistic approach that supports the whole person physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. She is passionate about assisting her clients in tackling their individual struggles as well as managing daily stressors. Fani identifies as a Christian. She enjoys working with adults of all gender identities, cultural background and sexual orientations. She provides therapy for people experiencing grief, anxiety, depression, addiction, trauma/abuse/ptsd, eating disorders, and parenting difficulties. She utilizes several therapeutic modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR), Mindfulness, and Motivational Interview (MI).

Fani has a holistic and person-centered therapeutic approach that helps her build genuine connections with her clients. She brings an authentic welcoming safe space that provides a non-judgemental therapeutic environment. Fani seeks to integrate creativity and gentle humor into sessions for she believes therapy can be both enjoyable and challenging.  She encourages clients to come as they are in order for her to meet them where they are. She is determined to help her clients feel grounded and centered in all aspects of their lives.
